Things to Remember for Cashing up Annual Holidays

posted in: What's Happening | 0

2Employees may ask for cash up as included in their leave every year. The following are considerations to meet the payroll.

  1. The employee’s request has to be made in writing to perform cashing up of holidays.
  2. A maximum of one week of the annual leave earned by the employee can only be requested for cash up.
  3. An employer has the discretion whether to accept the request for cash up or not. A decision in writing should be made by the employee. The employer is not obliged to give the reason for the decision.
  4. An employer can’t compel an employee to cash up holidays.

For employers, they are entitled to impose a working policy of not accepting any kind of request to cash up annual holidays. This working policy is only for consideration of accepting cash up requests and not about the possible amount of annual holidays that is allowed for cash up or the number of the possible request that an employee can make.

Happy Holidays!
